Morpht created the Search API Field Token contributed module in April 2022 to allow site builders to provide a token field option on the Search API index to set the data to be sent to the index using tokens. In simple language, index data into a search index using tokens like content-type label and image style.
Use cases of the Search API Field Token
The Use case of the Search API Field Token was to index the content type label, image style of an image with absolute URL, etc. into the search API index. It been covered in the previous blog post.
Good news, Upgrading Search API module?
The Search API token field processor provided by Search API Field Token module was added into the Search API module as Custom Value Processor.
This means users of the Search API Field Token 1.0.x contributed module currently using Search API 8.x-1.30 or above can start using the Token field provided by the Search API module in their search API index instead of the one offered by the Search API Field Token module. Then, uninstall the Search API Field Token module and re-index the Search API index to re-populate data in the new field.
Search API Field Token reached EOL
The Search API Field Token module reached EOL on the release date of the Search API 8.x-1.30 version. However, we marked it unsupported on 30 November 2023 so that there would be enough time for the existing module users to upgrade to the Search API version.
