The Australian and New Zealand Drupal community will be gathering at the upcoming DrupalSouth Brisbane 2022 conference being held from October 19th to October 21st. This is the annual get together for the community to present on the latest and greatest things they have been working on to share knowledge and foster the development of the Drupal ecosystem. It's also a great chance to have a chin wag and meet up with old friends.

Presentations
Over the past year we have been working in a number of emerging areas (data, personalisation, AI) and three team members have had presentations accepted. These presentations represent some of the best work we have been doing and shines a light on how Drupal as a CMS can be used as a foundation for innovative user experiences.
A personalisation UX playbook
A user centric approach to website design and architecture generally involves user research, discovery of user goals and the definition of user pathways and journeys through the site. Content needs to be designed to support the user to complete their tasks and move them onto the next stage. The personalisation and customisation of content adds another dimension for the designer to consider and opens the way for an enhanced user experience.
Andre Kakos will be presenting on the UX approach we take at Morpht for personalisation projects.
Better user and editor experience - exploring open data on GovCMS
IPEA is a government authority tasked with the management and reporting of parliamentarian expenditure. In this case study we will show how the Migrate and Solr modules were used to solve scalability and performance challenges by providing a user and editor friendly solution. The end result is that citizens and parliamentarians can access data expenditure more efficiently.
Julia Topliss will be presenting with Matt Pirani from IPEA on how to work on GovCMS SaaS to deliver improved experiences for the management and exploration of large datasets.
AI Powered Drupal: A new era for content creation and management
The world is changing rapidly. The developments in machine learning and artificial intelligence over the past decade have been significant with powerful models being developed and made readily available via APIs. The last few years in particular have seen stunning breakthroughs with the release of classification models for text and images, large language models such as GPT3 and image generation services such as DALL E 2. It really feels like we are living in the future.
Murray Woodman will be presenting on an AI integration system we have been working on, allowing large language models and visual classification systems to be integrated into editor workflows.
